Plane
Several cities have opened direct flight to
Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, which is also a must-go place if you want to know
the best of Tibet. You can choose these airports below to fly to Tibet, were
you happen to be in these cities. Otherwise, you may have to transfer in the
mid-way.
Beijing
Capital International Airport: It is located 32 km northeast of Beijing's
city center, in an enclave of Chaoyang
District.
Shanghai
Hongqiao International Airport: It is situated in the western outskirts of
Shanghai, about 13 kilometers from downtown area.
Shanghai Pudong
International Airport: Located about 30 kilometres east of the city centre, it occupies
a 40 square kilometres site adjacent to the coastline in eastern Pudong.
Chengdu
Shuangliu International Airport: It is 16km southwest to the center of Chengdu.
Chongqing
Jiangbei International Airport: It is about twenty-one kilometers northeast of
Chongqing in Lianglu Town, Yubei District.
Xi`an
Xianyang International Airport: It is located in Dizhang, around 36km northwest
of Xi’an city and approximately 18km northeast of Xianyang.
Kunming
Changshui International Airport: It lies nearby Changshui Village, Guandu
District in the northeast of Kunming city and is 25 kilometers from the city
center.
By train
Since the completion of Qinghai-Tibet Railway,
now you have another choice to finish your Tibet tours—to take train
to Tibet. Sceneries seen on the way to Tibet are way different from
what you think before. These rail stations below offer this spectacular
journey.
Beijing
West Railway Station: It’s located on the East Lianhuachi Road, Fengtai
District. Trains
from Beijing to Lhasa are available here.
Chengdu Railway Station: It is located on North Second Ring Road, Jinniu District, to the North of the city centre.
Chongqing North Railway Station: It is
located in Yubei District of Chongqing City.
Lanzhou Railway Station: It is located in Chengguan
District, Lanzhou, Gansu Province along Huochezhan East Road.
Xining West Railway Station: It serves the suburbs of the city of Xining and
is located 12 km from Xining Railway
Station.
Shanghai
Railway Station: The station is located on Moling Road, Zhabei District, to the North of
the city centre. Trains
from Shanghai to Lhasa travel via this station.
Guangzhou
Railway Station: It is situated on Huanshi West Road, northwest of the city
